POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring the raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and supplies necessary for production. This role involves managingsupplier relationships, ensuringcost-effective purchasing strategies, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the production processto meet demand efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify,evaluate, andmanage suppliersfor raw materials, ingredients,packaging, andother production-related items in alignment with the company's quality standards and production schedules.
- Developand maintain positiverelationships withsuppliers. Negotiateprices, terms,and contracts tosecure the best possiblevalue while ensuringtimely delivery of materials.
- Monitorstock levelsto ensure thecontinuous availabilityof materials whilepreventing excessinventory. Work closely with the production team to plan material needsbased on demandand production schedules.
- Trackand analyze markettrends tomake informeddecisions aboutpurchasing. Striveto reduce material costs and increasepurchasing efficiency withoutcompromising product quality.
- Placeand track purchaseorders, ensuringaccurate andtimely deliveryof materials. Addressany issues with suppliers, including delays, quality concerns,and discrepancies in orders.
- Collaboratewith thequality controlteam toensure thatall purchased materialsmeet thecompany’s quality
- standardsand comply withfood safetyregulations.
- Maintainaccurate recordsof purchases, suppliercontracts, andinventory levels.Provide regularreports on purchasingactivity, budgetadherence, andinventory statusto management.
- Workclosely withthe production, logistics,and finance teamsto forecast needs,support productionschedules, and ensure the smooth flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process.
- Assistwith cross-functionaltasks asneeded.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’sdegree inSupply ChainManagement, BusinessAdministration, orrelated field(or equivalent experience).
- Minimumof 3+ years ofexperience inprocurement orpurchasing, ideallyin a food manufacturingor similar industry.
- Strongnegotiation andcommunication skills.
- Proficiencyin procurement softwareand Microsoft OfficeSuite.
- Excellentorganizational andtime-management abilities.
- Knowledgeof supply chainbest practicesand inventory management.
- Understandingof food safetyregulations andquality standardsis a plus.
- Detail-orientedwith afocus onaccuracy.
- Stronganalytical andproblem-solving abilities.
- Abilityto work ina fast-paced anddynamic environment.
- Strongcollaboration andteam-working skills.
