R&M Manufacturing was founded in 1968 to produce precision sheet metal components. With over 50 years providing excellence in sheet metal fabrication, R&M will assist with all sheet metal needs - from prototyping to production runs.

Our facility is open 7 days per week with 1st and 2nd shifts working Monday - Thursday and a Weekend shift on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
What is a Buyer?
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services essential for the metal manufacturing process. This role involves evaluating supplier performance, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards, and managing inventory levels to support production schedules. The Buyer collaborates with production teams, analyzes market trends, and builds strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and efficient operations.
In this role, you will:
Manage the raw material, hardware, supplies, and finished goods inventory for R&M Manufacturing and R&M High Speed Stampings. Potential to support other Arise facilities as needed.
Monitor inventory levels and issue purchase orders to ensure the timely procurement of materials, avoiding shortages or excess inventory.
Track and evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contracts, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
Work with local plant leadership to manage inventory catalog, ensuring accuracy and integrity within the ERP system.
Achieve DIO & NWC targets by plant through implementation of various supply chain strategies.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or performance.
Provide feedback and intel to VP of Purchasing and broader leadership team regarding potential disruptions and market volatility to ensure risk mitigation within supply chain.
Serve as key point of contact to resolve receiving and accounts receivable issues.
Work with a cross functional team to drive continuous improvement with the supply base.
In conjunction with VP of Purchasing, leverage market analysis, industry trends, and tools to implement strategic procurement planning objectives.
In conjunction with the VP of Purchasing, negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms while ensuring quality standards
In conjunction with the VP of Purchasing, identify and evaluate current and potential suppliers, building long term and sustainable relationships.
Other duties as assigned.
To succeed in this role, you must:
Have 5+ years of experience buying metals
Have working knowledge of buying raw materials and supply chain dynamics
Have excellent communication skills
Degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Distribution preferred
Have experience with Lean and 6 Sigma practices
