Our Award Winning Client is seeking a Buy-In Specialist to join their Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Operations team. This client, renowned for their numerous industry accolades, operates on a national scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor regulatory buy-in processes and take appropriate actions (204, Reg-T, MSRB).
- Utilize buy-in processes to minimize fail obligations and mitigate firm risk (seg deficits).
- Oversee CNS obligations and liabilities, coordinate with Securities Lending to address short positions and fails to receive.
- Track Smart/TRACK system for buy-in notices from counterparties.
- Engage with counterparties to resolve open buy-in obligations.
- Provide support for international buy-in obligations.
- Develop and maintain firm policies and procedures related to street buy-in practices.
- Oversee client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, and resolve confirmation and ISDA-related issues.
- Lead or participate in moderately complex projects and deliverables.
- Contribute to large-scale planning related to process improvements, procedures, and efficiencies with internal and industry-related initiatives.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process enhancement and risk control development.
- Lead efforts to resolve multifaceted complex issues.
- Serve as a leader on various projects and internal and industry-related initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth evaluation and analysis of complex functional and operational tasks.
- Exercise independent judgment to guide project deliverables.
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead the team to achieve functional area projects and process deliverables.
- Leverage in-depth understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Mentor and support analysts.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Finance or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in the securities industry with an emphasis on buy-in and international trade settlement.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analytical purposes (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint to support group presentations to senior management.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of DTCC Smart/TRACK system, OW, Settlement Web, and FINRA.
- Expert knowledge of buy-in rules for domestic markets including DTC, Fed, and physical clearance.
- Working knowledge of buy-in rules for international markets including Euroclear, Clearstream, Crest, and various local markets.
- Working knowledge of Broadridge systems including GLOSS, Impact, and BPS.
- Working knowledge of Prime Broker operations.
Job Expectations:
- Monday - Friday with multiple shifts between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.
