About the Job
We are searching for candidates who will enjoy working with others in a fast-paced culinary environment and who have a desire to help create an enjoyable dining experience for guests. Busser aims to support other team members by cleaning and resetting tables, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates, and bringing guest's needs to the attention of a server. They also restock necessary items, such as napkins and straws, and may assist with washing dishes. Suitable candidates should be efficient, attentive, and have strong customer service skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front of the house including all tables, chairs, floors, walls, windows, and restrooms.
- Assists in restocking the dining room with silverware, glassware, utensils, condiments, and maintains adequate supplies in the work stations when the dining room is opened.
- May prepare beverages required for service, including coffee, and iced tea.
- Communicates with host/hostess and servers to maintain service efficiency.
- May assist servers in serving tables during rush periods.
- Assists in removing dirty dishes and silver from guest tables between courses and after guests leave the table. Returns dirty dishes, silverware, and glassware to dishwashing area, sorting silverware, glassware, and other items, placing them in the prescribed area for proper disposition.
- Will perform any restaurant function as needed.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION:
- Entry-level position.
- Must possess a friendly, outgoing, courteous, service-oriented personality.
- High School degree preferred, but not required. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have the ability to remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend and stoop on occasion, and be able to escort guests to other parts of the facility as circumstances dictate.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to five hours in length.
- Must have the ability to lift trays, soiled dish bins, etc., of up to 40 pounds in weight.
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other associates.
- Must wear slip-resistant shoes at all times while working.
