SUMMARY:
The Busser supports the wait staff and bartenders by cleaning tables, taking plates, utensils, and drinkware to the kitchen to be washed, making sure diners' water glasses are full, and resetting tables for the next service. Bussers might help waiters and waitresses bring food out to a table, and restock utensils, napkins, and other dining room needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist customers with queries, requests, and redirecting as necessary.
- Ensure that tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset between seats.
- Serve food and refilling beverages as required.
- Assist with the cleaning and processing of dirty dishes and silverware.
- Ensure that the menus, crockery, and cutlery are cleaned and replenished between tables.
- Manage the inventory of napkins, straws, salt, pepper, and other table condiments and supplies.
- Report any damages, shortages, and complaints to the manager.
- Move tables, chairs, and furniture to accommodate customers as needed.
- Tide the restaurant after service and ensure that it is prepped for the following service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Busser, Food Runner, or other entry-level role in a restaurant.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.
- Friendly, responsible, and punctual.
- Customer Services Oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
EDUCATION:
- High School degree, GED or Equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).
REASONING ABILITY:
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
