About the Role
Our client, a leading global company specializing in high-precision measuring instruments, is seeking a Business Unit Sales Manager to oversee their Western Region sales team. This role is based out of Los Angeles and offers the chance to join a highly profitable, debt-free company with a long-standing reputation for excellence. The selected candidate will lead and develop a sales team focused on analytical instrumentation and technical capital equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of field and inside sales representatives, as well as product specialists.
- Achieve sales targets and oversee travel and expense budgets for the business unit.
- Support team members with daily activities, including sales strategies, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Report directly to the Vice President of Sales and Service for the Eastern Region.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 3+ years of sales management experience, including direct sales experience in analytical instrumentation or technical capital equipment.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to coach and train sales teams in selling strategies, negotiation, and customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability to fast-evolving technology and organizational changes.
- Exceptional communication skills and leadership capabilities.
- Additional Requirements:
- Availability for up to 50% overnight travel.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
