About the Job
Background:
The Manager of Tax Business Transformation will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders to maximize internal operational efficiency, drive growth and generate client success through process reengineering and the development of technology solutions.
The role requires a strong understand of tax service delivery, ability to mobilize teams, solid project management organization and ability to present and influence recommendations with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Local candidates ONLY will be considered. We offer a permanent hybrid schedule (2-3 days in Florham Park, NJ)
Core Responsibilities:
- Walk in lock-step with key leaders within the Tax Department to understand core processes and their impact both within Tax and across partnering departments.
- Develop, design, and implement business process improvements via process redesign.
- Evaluate process steps as value adding, enabling, or non-value adding; help process owners eliminate non-value adding steps to more the team towards a digital forward service model
- Develop, plan, and manage the end-to-end technology and solution delivery life cycle of transformation initiatives for firm.
- Evaluate the portfolio of existing applications and present clear guidance on where to expand usage, retire or invest in new technology in alignment with strategic plan
- Manage teams in the gathering, translating, and documenting of business requirements into technical documentation and prototyping, testing, communicating and training of solutions.
- Act as a liaison with business and tech team to ensure all stakeholders have a clear and common understanding of both the business priorities, needs and the proposed solutions.
- Communicate a cohesive and concise story around business drivers for current and future initiatives and potential implications on future results.
- Collaborate with leadership on identifying and defining KPIs/Metric to monitor and measure the success of initiatives.
- Work with leadership in the yearly planning and budgeting process for technology initiatives
- Establishes, maintains, and continually improves business performance through a LEAN mindset that is linked to the business objectives and drives integration of all enablers.
- Champions the development of solutions that address organizational challenges, supports project objectives often by leading assigned engagement tasks to completion within scope, project timeline and budget constraints, while ensuring deliverable requirements are met. Considers risk planning and mitigation, status reporting, stakeholder communications and management.
- Manages and conducts cross-functional project meetings and is responsible for quality meeting agenda’s, minutes, project tracking, analysis, and supporting project documentation.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 5+ years of experience leading process improvements and/or Technology initiatives
- Experience in Tax Compliance and/ or familiarity with tax software
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, and/or a related field
- Prior public accounting experience or other professional services experience required.
- Experience with applications such as CCH ProSystem FX/Axcess, CCH Engagement and XCM
- Extensive experience in working with multi-skilled Digital teams (Architects, Project Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers and QA Engineers)
- Solid skills in Project / Program Management
- Ability to work effectively across functions; extensive experience leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams, proven mentoring and coaching abilities, ability to motivate & inspire others.
- Natural problem-solver: comfortable with data and ambiguity; able to both delve into the details and operational tactics and engage meaningfully on the big picture or overall strategy.
- Proactive and passionate about results: independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems.
- Leadership: strong team leadership and project management skills and ability to mobilize teams towards a common goal.
- Initiative and ownership: ability to act with limited oversight on day-to-day basis, balancing multiple priorities.

- Effective communications: Ability to distill complex thoughts and ideas to Senior leadership.
