The Business Systems Variant Configuration Specialist is responsible for the creation, and maintenance of configurable products, bills of materials and underlying master data for Daifuku ILUS conveyor products.
NOTE: This is not a remote position, must be local to Northwest Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Work with Engineering on the release of new products or changes to existing products.
- Review the effects of product change on the configured models as well as how those changes relate to manufacturing and customer support
- Develop or change model structures, setting up options, characteristics, BOMs and rules based on Engineering Documentation
- Structure and input rules in Dependencies using rule types that are logical to the specific product and ensure system performance is not compromised
- Create and maintain multi-company databases relating to ECN’s that change/create bills of material and routings. Maintain all part numbering processes, including appropriate Item Master data
- Assign or process new part number requests
- Performs a product SAP VC target testing and validation.
- Participates in collecting, documenting, and communicating best practices affecting product configuration process utilizing SAP VC
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Engineering or a related field and 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of SAP operation and maintenance experience across the following - Batch Management, Demand Planning, MRP, Production Planning Detailed Scheduling (PP-DS), Production Execution (PP-PI), Project Systems, Purchasing, Materials Management, Inventory Management (EWM)
- Experience in computer system validation, authoring CSV deliverables, execution of testing, resolving of defects.
- 3+ years manufacturing industry experience is required.
- The ideal candidate would have experience with SAP configurations within the manufacturing industry.
- Cross-functional knowledge of SD, PS, MM, PP, FI/CO SAP modules and the integration points with VC
- Ability to understand complex products.
- Responsible for developing good listening, written and verbal communication skills.
