About the Job
The City of Oxnard’s Information Technology Department is seeking Information Technology Business Systems Analysts who will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing business information systems. These roles involve working as a BSA or Project Coordinator on multiple projects, coordinating project teams, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements; Conduct detailed analysis of business processes to identify areas for improvement; Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT systems.
- System Design and Development: Work with developers, vendors, and project team members to implement system changes; Ensure system designs align with business objectives
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans to ensure system functionality and performance; Identify and troubleshoot system issues, working with developers to resolve them; Validate that system changes meet business requirements before deployment.
- Project Management: Participate in project planning and management activities; Track project progress, manage timelines, and ensure that deliverables are met; Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the business and IT, ensuring clear and effective communication; Conduct meetings and presentations to share analysis findings and recommendations; Provide training and support to users on new systems and processes.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyst date to provide insights and support decision-making; Develop and generate reports to track system performance and business metrics; Use data analytics tools to identify trends and patterns.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements; Propose and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness; Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
WORK SCHEDULE: The normal work week is Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm and alternating Fridays 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Please note:
The Information Technology Department supports public safety personnel including the Police Department. Therefore, as part of the selection process, applicants will be required to successfully complete a thorough background investigation, which includes a polygraph exam.
