Duties, Scope of Work, and/or Milestones
Position will function as a Sr. Business Systems Analyst supporting the Technical Services Department. To be successful in this role, Sr. Business Systems Analyst should have a combination of technical,
administrative, and soft skills.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Provides project management skills in planning, scheduling, managing, and reporting; provides lead direction, training, and work review for a project team; organizes and assigns work, sets priorities, and follows up and controls project status to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work. Gathers and analyzes information. Provides professional organization, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills; presents information in formal settings. Conducts requirements analysis, cost/benefit analysis develops schedules and project plans and other phases of a formal systems development methodology. Works in a matrix management environment with reporting responsibilities to customers and the assigned department. Provides self-direction and works with minimal direction. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Develops system, time, equipment, and cost requirements. Provides bridging and resolution for project and customer conflicts; finds the common ground and compromises. Confers with customer department staff regarding assigned functional program areas. Maintains records and prepares periodic and special reports of work performed. Uses standard office equipment in the course of the work. Maintains current knowledge of project management fundamentals.
Daily/Weekly Expectations:
- Coordinate weekly project update team meeting.
- Prepare and send out weekly report template on Monday Morning.
- Proof weekly report for completeness and post to Teams channel.
- Validate and print monthly capital project reports.
- Send template and collect End of Project reports.
- Collect Monthly Accomplishments updates and update consolidated report.
- Audit 150+ ServiceNow projects for percent complete accuracy and other defined metrics.
- Works with Technical staff to automate reports as requested by leadership.
- Input and track PR/PO’s as requested.
- Cover for PM staff as requested (e.g. start and lead meeting, project notes and task follow-up)
- Ability to quickly incorporate direct feedback into processes.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned projects by offering suggestions or direction as a member of the team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/task simultaneously,
- Manage small scale projects as needed and follow internal PM processes.
- A minimum of five (5) years working in Information Technology field with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- A minimum three (3) years experience as a Business Analyst or Project Coordinator
- Experience in a government setting.
- Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM module for managing and updating projects.
- Ability to organize and lead highly technical focus groups composed of primarily Infrastructure, Network Systems, and Desktop services.
- Demonstrates professional organization, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Analytical problem-solving abilities, proactive/positive team player, resourceful and innovative.
- Hands-on experience developing both technical and user-friendly communications as well as documenting technical requirements, creating job aids, and monitoring project progress using Service-Now.
- Proven multi-tasking skills, including ability to work effectively under pressure, handle heavy volumes and meet demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work onsite full time, Monday – Thursday, 10-hour shifts,
- Must be a resident of Clark County.
- Ability to work in a Balanced Matrix environment, with tenured resources and evolving priorities.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, should demonstrate fluency in both oral and writing communications.
- At a minimum have fundamental knowledge of: IT Projects
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in local government.
- Ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders as well as internal staff.
- Self-starter with the ability to take on tasks with minimal direction when needed.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills.
- Pass a stringent criminal background check (May take up to 8 weeks)
- Estimated Duration of Job: Through May 31st, 2025
