About the Job
Essential Functions:
- Address all mechanics on subjects of safety and quality
- Complete performance reviews for your any direct reports, which may include supervisors, leadmen and technicians.
- Actively interview and hire
- Evaluate and promote standard
- Work with Wyoming Machinery Company training department on scheduling appropriate training for assigned employees.
- Set goals for service operations yearly with service
- Perform disciplinary actions to employees as
- Interface with technical department and attend product health meetings as Interface with warranty department as needed.
- Maintain constant customer contacts for public relations, as well as problem
- Settle questionable service department billing problems with
- Settle any policy decisions dealing with warranty
- Communication with Caterpillar when dealing with special service department projects. Help maintain a positive, progressive attitude from service department to all other departments and stores.
- Oversee work order closure process for supervised work areas for daily WIP
- Aid with the yearly preparation of the service department
- Monthly, review budget results with supervisors and set goals to control
- Working with team to prepare requests for all capital expenditures in the service department for approval.
- Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
Additional Functions:
- Work with local Colleges and Vo-Tech Institute to help insure an uninterrupted supply of service technicians is available.
- Maintain a positive and meaningful relationship with customers and

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Ability
- High school diploma or
- College degree in business management or equivalent
- Ability to manage and control people, decision-making and problem solving
- Written and oral communication
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility and adaptation to
- In depth mechanical knowledge and knowledge of service
- Bookkeeping, accounting and math
- Public speaking
- Able to speak
- Communicate clearly, precisely and logically at all
- Basic computer
Preferred:
- Five (5) years of prior management
- Frontline Leadership or other types of leadership
- Prior management of service
- Experience with the repair process of Caterpillar
- Direct work experience with Caterpillar or Caterpillar Reps.
