A client of Sharp Decisions Inc. is looking for a Business Operations Analyst to support our client’s Records and Information Management (RIM) Program. The position is HYBRID in Washington, DC (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). The contract’s duration is 18 months with possible extension. *W2 and Local only.
DESCRIPTION:
The Business Operations Analyst supports the Records & Information Management (RIM) Program by driving operational efficiency, enhancing records information management practices, and improving compliance across the organization. Reporting directly to the RIM Program Director, this role focuses on optimizing records retention, classification, and retrieval processes while providing data-driven insights to inform RIM strategies and policies. The Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and business requirements related to records management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identify, analyze, and implement improvements across RIM processes, focusing on optimizing records retention schedules, data mapping and assessments, employee onboarding/offboarding, box transfers, retrieval and destruction, records cleanup, and third-party awareness.
2. Analyze data to evaluate records information management trends and compliance metrics, providing actionable insights that support strategic decision-making within the program.
3. Support the ongoing maintenance and updates of the records retention schedule by reviewing regulatory requirements, aligning with business needs, and incorporating operational feedback.
4. Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs to enhance employee understanding of records information management principles, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation practices.
5. Assist in identifying and evaluating risks related to records information management, including data privacy and security concerns, and recommend strategies to mitigate these risks.
6. Prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, scorecards, and documentation for senior management, showcasing compliance levels, program performance, and areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience in records and information management or a related field (3+ years).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to records management.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software to build diagrams and use cases
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Suite
