Full-Time : Business Office Support Staff
The Orthopedic Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Business Office Support Staff to join our team. The Orthopedic Surgery Center is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
Position Summary:
Business Office Support Staff will be responsible for a multitude of tasks that include paper and electronic medical record keeping and scanning.
Essential Functions:
Assist with front desk registration as needed:
- Collects co-payments, deductibles and other patient responsible amounts at admission
- Ensures all forms are completed and signed by patient at admission
- Ensures patient and or the responsible party understands the billing and collection process
- Answer questions about insurance or secures assistance when needed from other business office personnel
- Enters/updates patient insurance and demographic information in Information Systems operating system
Assists with the collection, processing, maintenance, storage, retrieval and distribution of medical record information according to established policies and procedures:
- Supports and participates in a filing system that meets Facility requirements for medical records
- Maintains the confidentiality, security and physical safety of Facility medical records
- Assists in pulling of previous year charts to prepare for storage
- Assists in shifting charts throughout cabinet to make room for new charts as needed
- Assumes clerical duties and responsibilities as necessary:
- Assists in ordering and stocking clerical supplies
- Assists in maintaining cost-effectiveness by preventing waste of supplies
- Maintains order and cleanliness of the front desk
- Assists with preparation and maintenance of Facility records and reports
- Other job related duties as assigned.

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- One year medical office experience, preferred.
