JOB SUMMARY: Assist the Business Office Manager to ensure an effective, smooth running operation using the philosophy, objectives and policies of this facility.
MinimumQualifications:
· Business college preferred
· Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish thejob.·
· Musthavetheabilitytoread,write,andfolloworaland writtendirectionsatalevelnecessaryto accomplish thejob.
· Basic understanding of computer technology, including emailuse.
· Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with otheremployees.
· Must maintain regularattendance.
· Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam, if required. This requirementalsoincludesdrugscreening,criminalbackgroundinvestigationandreferenceinquiry.
Essential JobFunctions
OFFICE MANAGEMENT
· Responsible for overseeing all functions of the Business Office. In conjunction with the Admission Coordinator, maintains proper statistical information indicating the admission(s) and discharge(s) of residents on a daily basis. Receives and files approvals ofadmission.
· Performsdutiesand/ormanagesstaffresponsibleforpayroll,personnelrecords,grouphealthinsurance records,workman’scompensationrecords,accountspayable,andsecretary/receptionistduties.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
· Performs accounts receivables functions and maintains relatedrecords.
· Acts as a cashier and performs requiredduties.
· Issues receipts to all persons paying cash and on request when paying bycheck.
· Records all charges and collections for accounts receivableaging.
· Analyzes the accounts receivable aging monthlyand reports delinquent accounts to the Administrator.
· Acquired information required for billing of the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Maintains a statistical record as to the utilization of licensed beds, as required in the preparation of the Medicare CostReport.
· On accounts covered by hospitalization insurance, Medicare and Medicaid; analyze billings and submitsnoticesofadmissiontoinsurancecarriersorgovernmentagenciesasdeterminedbycoverage.
· Prepares and forwards statements to residents whose cases have been rejected or on whose accounts there is a balance after coverageterminates.
· Maintains residents’ trust fund under the Administrator’sguidance.
· Maintainsaledgeronwhichwillberecordedallfundsleftwiththefacilityonbehalfoftheresidents.
