A Bit About The Role
The Business Intelligence & Reporting Manager will be responsible for all work activities associated with design, development, testing, and deployment of reports, analytics and dashboards across the organization.
This individual will be the subject matter expert for all reporting and analytics needs.
The Manager will work with Sales, Service, Finance and other departments to understand their needs and provide workable analytics for them.
He/She will also work with business units/SMEs to gather reporting requirements, design them and build new/custom reports and dashboards.
The role includes analyzing out of box delivered reports to determine whether current reports can be leveraged/configured or if new custom reports will need to be built.
This position will also be responsible for educating the broader team in data management and reporting standards and governance.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the business intelligence team and the stakeholders across various departments
- Lead and manage a team of BI developers and data analysts
- Transform data into actionable insights enabling better business decisions
- Provide guidance to the team on data analysis, visualization, and reporting best practices.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to manage data architecture, infrastructure, and governance.
- Provide reporting and data analysis services to the various stakeholders across the organization, ensuring they have access to accurate, actionable data and insights.
- Lead the weekly status calls with the business users to gather requirements, prioritize, and get the work done.
- Partner with security team to maintain data and privacy standards. Should incorporate a cadence to ensure data is always secured.
- Work closely with various functional team members to conduct proper testing before reports are handed over to the business users for testing.
- Follow established standards and change management processes including documenting report changes, maintenance and optimization
- Ensure data refreshes are successful and finance reports and analytics such as P&L and Balance Sheet are always accurate and available for the business leaders
- Provide troubleshooting and support for reporting execution, failures, and escalations.
About You
- 10+ years of experience in Information Technology
- 5+ years of strong hands-on experience building reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI
- Hands on experience pulling data from multiple sources such as Oracle ERP and Salesforce
- Strong experience with any of these databases such as MYSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and Snowflake.
- Should have experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica, Oracle ODI, or MuleSoft and understand how data is stored within the data warehouse. Should be able to extract, transform and load data in/out of the databases/data marts/data warehouse.
- Ability to be onsite in our Plano office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Working remotely on Monday and Friday.
- Should have experience training business users and mentoring staff.
- Proficiency and knowledge of finance, supply chain, and HR systems.
- Ability to think out of the box and be able to create consolidated reports with data from multiple data sources
- Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, provide timely follow-up and resolution
- Demonstrated ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
- Strong written and oral communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
