Position Overview:
As a Business Data Analyst in this confidential role, you will be responsible for analyzing and visualizing key business data using Microsoft Power BI. This role is integral to our data-driven approach, enabling us to make informed decisions across various departments, including sales, production, and inventory management. Through the creation of interactive dashboards and reports, you will support our goal of identifying trends and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Visualization & Reporting:
- Utilize Power BI to develop, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that provide insight into key metrics across operations.
- Source, clean, and integrate data from multiple systems to support comprehensive business analytics.
Business Analysis:
- Collaborate with departments such as sales, production, and inventory management to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
- Track performance metrics, analyze customer trends, monitor production efficiency, and evaluate inventory levels using Power BI.
Decision-Making Support:
- Help stakeholders identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to optimize operations through data-driven analysis.
- Provide recommendations for strategic decisions based on data analysis.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously monitor and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards to align with evolving business requirements.
- Identify best practices for data visualization and reporting to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis and business intelligence, with a focus on Microsoft Power BI.
- SQL and Database Management – Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval, transformation, and management. Experience with database systems like MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is preferred.
- ETL Tools – Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Informatica, or Alteryx for data integration and transformation.
- Data Warehousing Solutions – Experience with data warehousing tools like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery to manage and query large datasets efficiently.
- DAX and M Query Language – Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for Power BI calculations and M Query for data transformation in Power Query.
- Proven experience with data visualization, dashboard creation, and report generation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data management, SQL, and other data analysis tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of the building materials industry or similar sectors is advantageous.
