The Business Intelligence Analyst provides user direction, analyzes data, and develops Business Intelligence content for one or more functional units within Garnet Health in accordance with enterprise data governance processes. The Business Intelligence Analyst also develops dashboards, dashboard components, metrics, and data pipelines. Responsibilities include analyzing and synthesizing information, and creating reports, presentations, and other materials. The Business Intelligence Analyst creates reports and dashboards with tools such as Epic Slicer Dicer, Epic Workbench, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, and Power BI, and creates ad hoc SQL queries.

The compensation range for the role is $66,066 - $82,583 annually.  

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.  When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

•  Preferred but not required: (will train the right candidate) Epic Cogito Certification:
  • Level 1: Less than 2 years of business intelligence experience, no Epic certification.
  • Level 2: 2 years of business intelligence experience, with or without Epic certification.
  • Level 3: 5 or more years of business intelligence experience, with or without Epic certification.
  • Level 4: More than 5 years of combined experience with lead/supervisor responsibilities and Epic certified.
• Experience analyzing data and creating reports.
• Experience writing SQL queries.
• Experience creating reports with tools such as Epic Slicer Dicer, Epic Workbench, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, and Power BI.
• Ability to work with a computer terminal for extended periods of time.

Required Certification/Registration:  

• Must acquire Epic Cogito Certification within 12 months, 6 months is preferred.
• Must acquire Epic Clinical Data Model Certification with 18 months.
  

Working Conditions:

• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
• For Remote and Hybrid Remote positions: If deemed operationally necessary, position may be required to report in and work on site.
• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.

Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
