UC Health is hiring a Full Time Business Intell Manager
A leadership position focused on managing data, reporting and analytics professionals at UC Health. These staff are responsible for working with clinical and ancillary subject matter experts (SMEs) as well as Business Intelligence Analysts to design and build analytics that support data driven decision-making. These Managers understand user requirements and translate them into actionable reports and analytics. They will coordinate multiple complex projects within their teams and escalate issues as appropriate to the department Director. Business Intelligence Managers are expected to lead/chair all reporting prioritization meetings, assign tasks to resources on their teams and be an active leader in maintaining data governance within the organization. This position will serve as the primary lead with the Executive teams of each service line and manage various analytical related projects and ad hoc requests from the various clinical departments. They will become knowledgeable about their assigned clinical departments and service lines and mentor Analysts to become critical members of those clinical areas. This position will provide technical advice and support for each analyst in order to grow their given skillset. They will be responsible for creating and ensuring that Analysts are following approved developmental standards, definitions and style guides and keeping our production reports up to date, documented.

This role will primarily focus on Business Systems (Supply Chain, HR, and Finance) data & analytics. Experience with Oracle ERP or ERP system data & analytics preferred.

Responsibilities
This role will primarily focus on Business Systems (Supply Chain, HR, and Finance) data & analytics. Experience with Oracle ERP or ERP system data & analytics preferred.
Project/Department Management:
- Independently coordinates multiple simultaneous analytics projects of varying complexity and priority.
- Provides technical leadership and guidance to Business Intelligence Analysts.
- Develops, and implements project plans, and schedules for large, complex, cross-departmental projects and tracks and reports on project status.
- Monitors performance statistics against team and individual goals.
- Maintains the departments development standards and reporting catalogue.
- Serves as the first step in the data governance process ensuring that the intake of requests is managed and that all requests have required information from the customer.
- Manages the priority and timeliness of all of their staffs assignments in conjunction with the customer prioritization committees.
- Provides effective project coordination, working closely with Analytics leadership as well as leadership of their assigned service lines/clinical departments.
- Provides accurate and timely reports of the status of the work to assure no deadlines or program changes are missed.
- Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of the completed work product.
- Create, follow and improve the standards in the Analytics department including pursuing data from multiple resources and driving appropriate automation.
- Maintains their deep knowledge of the Epic and data warehouse environments as well as Business Intelligence tools and concepts to make sure that analysts are using the correct data/tools/technique.
Internal Data Reporting and Analysis:
- Determine the appropriate clinical workflows and data needed for internal and external reporting.
- Communicates effectively with team members, end-users, vendors, managers and executives both orally and in writing.
- Facilitates discussions and provides strategic, tactical direction to team members and clients.
- Abstract, interface, download, or do whatever is needed to capture necessary data.
- Create, follow and improve the departmental standard work.
- Prepare statistical reports and integrates clinical, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and operational data for quality and operational effectiveness reporting.
- Design, creates and troubleshoots complex reports in a variety of environments.
- Generate reports using a variety of reporting tools such as: MS Excel, SQL, SAP Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and other Data Visualization tools.
- Create and follow Standard Work for reporting to assure a consistent, high quality work product.
- Formats and presents information and the data to administrative and physician leaders in order to drive transformative change.
- Creates, fosters and maintains a team oriented and cooperative environment focused on customer service.
- Develops new methods of analysis, reporting, and communicating data/information and works with technical staff to ensure the effective implementation of any new processes.
Other Duties Assigned:
- Involved in the interview and selection of employees to fill position vacancies.
- Assesses employee performance and conducts performance reviews for staff supervised.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:
- 3-5 years of equivalent experience required in data analytics. Certificates and/or Degrees in data analytics, health information management, informatics or other data science/business intelligence related field preferred.
- Strong experience and at least intermediate working knowledge of MS Excel
- Required experience and demonstrated knowledge of T-SQL an Database Reporting
- Required experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, SAP Analytics Cloud, or other equivalent)
- Required healthcare data experience in an Epic environment having managed Business Intelligence Analysts
