About the Role:The Business Development Specialist – Global Corporate Department is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team and will be responsible for playing a key role across the full business development spectrum, while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the Corporate practice, market and industry expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media. This role will be located in either our New York, Boston, or Chicago office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Supporting the implementation of business development tactics and initiatives in alignment with the strategic objectives of practices, markets, relevant industry sectors, and/or clients as assigned
- Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies, including collaborating with relevant BD teams
- Coordinating the research of markets, competition, and conflicts for the department and practice groups to drive strategy
- Developing internal communications to inform relevant practice and industry groups of significant achievements, developments, and market synergies
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Possess a high degree of discretion and independent judgment
- Demonstrate the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively
- Display exceptional oral/written communication and professional interpersonal skills
And have:
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience within a law firm or professional services environment
