Job Description
Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding our company’s market share through new business development relationships to meet sales and profit goals set by the company.
- Develop New Business Pipeline to Achieve Individual Sales Plan and Profit Goals set by the Company
- Generate new leads through networking, LinkedIn outreach and other targeted prospecting strategies
- Follow up on Sales Qualified Leads provided by the company and convert them into opportunities.
- Meet with prospects to uncover potential opportunities for us and demonstrate how our solutions effectively meet their needs
- Develop proposals that outline our solutions and effectively present our value proposition.
- Lead the new customer through the contracting and onboarding process and communicate the customer needs to the company and make sure our solutions are delivered to client satisfaction.
- Develop new channels through partnerships with other ecommerce vendors, fulfillment companies and independent consultants.
- Promote our Brand in marketplace through attending events, promoting content on social media, and giving feedback to marketing.
- Stay current on industry trends and knowledge through attending events, reading publications and company announcements.
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Sales Ability: Business Development Manager understands all aspects of prospecting, selling, closing management and the Virid sales process model.
- Teamwork: Business Development Rep must interact well with others. Listen to others and be respectful in email and verbal communications to team members as they quarterback sales opportunities. They must put the company goals before their own.
- Communications: The Business Development Manager must be able to share relevant information orally and/or in writing with creativeness, clarity, effectiveness, and timeliness. The Business Development Rep must be persuasive in presentations and client sessions.
- Entrepreneurial: The Business Development Manager must have the desire, aptitude, and experience to create and develop new markets, opportunities and sales approaches for Virid.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Bachelors preferred in a related field.
- 5-10 years outside sales experience including selling services to B2B customers
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- 2+ years IT technology services or consulting experience (ecommerce experience a plus)
- Experience using CRM (HubSpot)
Training
- 90 Day Onboarding plan that covers the Technology, Products, Customers, Sales Process, Sales Activity, Industry and Organization to be successful as Business Development Director.
Expectations
- Sales Goal for first 120 days 1 New contract
- Sales Goal Year 1: $250,000 in Net New ACV
- market Agility - $150,000 - ACV
- Services – 100,000 - ACV
- Sales Goal Year 2: $500,000 in ACV
Compensation & Benefits (50/50 plan)
- OTE
- Year 1 – $125,000 - $140,000 ($75,000 - $100,000 base + $50,000 variable)
- Year 2+ - $175,000 - $200,000 ($75,000 - $100,000 base + $100,000 variable)
- Commissions - 20% of ACV
