JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Business Development Representative
1) Effective Date: August 2024
2) Basic Function: This person will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities,
building strong relationships with clients, and driving sales growth. This role requires a deep
understanding of manufacturing processes, customer needs, and industry trends.
Excellent proposal development, presentation and negotiating skills utilized to succeed in this
role. The person demonstrates expertise in gaining access and selling to the B2B decision makers to
ensure a deep enough understanding of clients' individual experiences to head off potential issues
before they become problems.
3) Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the Sales Manager
4) Authority: This position has the authority to negotiate contracts, pricing, and service
agreements with new and existing customers.
S) Responsibilities:
A. Market Research and Strategy Development:
o Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the Tool and Die/Manufacturing industry.
o Develop and execute strategic plans to meet sales and revenue targets.
o Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to align the company's
offerings with market demand.
B. Client Relationship Management:
o Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and industry partners.
o Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
o Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with new and existing clients.
C. Sales Growth:
o Generate leads, qualify prospects, and manage the sales pipeline to close deals effectively.
o Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, presentations, and tailored solutions for
clients.
o Meet or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPis).
D. Industry Networking and Representation:
o Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand awareness.
o Develop a strong network of industry contacts to drive business opportunities
/ IB
o Stay updated on the latest trends and technological advancements in the Tool and
Die/Manufacturing sector.
E. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
o Work closely with engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure seamless project
execution.
o Provide customer feedback to help refine product offerings and services.
6) Principle Duties: (Tasks)
o CRM Database updating opportunities creation and repo1ting
o Direct outbound calling campaign
o Field calls and emails from select customers
o Other duties as assigned
o Provide critical data for estimators
7) Standards of Performance
o 5 day quote turnaround
o Follow up on all quotes within 2 days of executing
o Meet or Exceed Sales Goal

Education & Experience:
• Minimum level of education/training required: This position requires the successful completion
of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
Minimum experience required:
5+ years of experience in business development or sales within the Tool and Die, Manufacturing, or
related industries.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and die design.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Will have accomplished the following:
• Experience independently closing individual accounts with revenue over $250K+
• Average deal size $50K-100K
• Advanced knowledge of software and manufacturing technology
• Experience with project management in a manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events up to ½ of the time.
• License or certificate required: Driver's license is required.
