We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual eager to make an impact, grow their career, and drive change in the energy industry. As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Bidgely, you will combine Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies with inside sales techniques to drive revenue growth. In this hybrid role, you will build relationships and serve as an ambassador for Bidgely, often providing the first interaction for potential clients exploring our UtilityAI solutions. We’re not just selling a product—we’re fostering partnerships by communicating, connecting, and educating clients to match the best solutions to their needs.
As a Business Development Representative you will execute targeted initiatives and generate pipeline growth through strategic prospecting and lead qualification. You’ll be part of a small, dynamic team dedicated to excellence and collaboration.

You’ll join a collaborative team that values teamwork, continuous learning, and leveraging technology. We are looking for someone with strong marketing and sales fundamentals who can learn quickly and utilize our tech stack effectively. The Business Development Representative team engages prospects across multiple channels to build a strong top-of-the-funnel pipeline. This position is part of the revenue marketing team, operating under three key pillars:

As a Business Development Representative you will:
Build and Nurture the Top-of-Funnel Pipeline:
Conduct outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, email outreach, and social selling, to engage key stakeholders within target accounts.
Manage and augment lead database through lead list management and leveraging tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo. Database governance and org chart development would be a routine activity.
Qualify leads through discovery calls, using the BANT framework to identify potential opportunities.
Educate the market by creating personalized outreach that resonates with prospects' needs and pain points, positioning Bidgely as a trusted partner.
Support strategic events by booking meetings and assisting with logistics as needed.
Maintain accurate records of all activities, leads, and account interactions in the CRM system, ensuring a well-organized pipeline.
Drive Metrics and Foster Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment and smooth handoffs of qualified leads.
Provide regular updates and reports on pipeline progression, campaign performance, and lead generation activities to key stakeholders.
Leverage data and metrics to continuously improve strategies, ensuring that our approach is effective and aligned with overall goals.
Contribute insights to marketing teams, offering feedback on assets, messaging, and campaigns based on direct interactions with customers and prospects.
Execute Targeted Outreach and Build Relationships:
Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute highly targeted campaigns focused on a defined set of accounts.
Conduct thorough research on target accounts to identify key decision-makers, influencers, and their unique challenges.
Create and deliver personalized outreach through various channels—email, social media, events—to engage and drive awareness within target accounts.
Monitor and analyze campaign performance, using insights to refine strategies and tactics for greater impact.
Cultivate strong relationships with prospects, acting as an ambassador for Bidgely and ensuring that our partnerships are built on trust and value.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
1-2 years of experience in sales or lead generation working with/for electric, gas and/or water utilities in North America OR a combined experience of at least 1+ years of experience in B2B SaaS or Software business development or lead generation selling to utility-like companies AND at least 1+ years of demonstrated knowledge of the regulated utility space with a specific focus in the following areas: grid modernization, electric vehicles, decarbonization and demand side management.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels, both internally and externally.
Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Comfortable using CRM systems like Salesforce and tools like Salesloft, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Exceptional Candidates Have:

Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $60,000-$70,000 with up to $30,000 variable earnings.
In accordance with the California Equal Pay and Pay Transparency laws , the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

This is a remote role with no more than 10% travel
