- As a Business Development Representative (BDR) with our client you will focus on generating qualified prospects using cold email, cold calling, social selling, networking via a virtual platform (i.e., MS Teams, LinkedIn, DialPad, Vidyard, etc), networking in person at conferences or events, and following up with prospects from our client’s Training department.
As a BDR, the rep will mostly serve as the first point of contact for a potential customer with an organization our client does not work with or an organization our client does currently work with. After identifying prospects, either through their own research, or with the help of others, the BDR will approach them, via phone or email, to move the sales conversation forward utilizing a defined our client’s sales process (i.e., MEDDICC as one example). This usually involves setting up a time for the prospect to meet or speak with a more senior member of the sales team, usually an Account Executive, Account Manager, or Strategic Account Manager. The BDR will be measured and held accountable monthly and quarterly for meeting / exceeding metrics (defined below) for number of calls made and sales accepted leads procured during the month.
Territory: BDR will have and ‘own’ a defined territory that will be determined upon first day of employment. The territory will consist of working directly with current clients as defined by the territory which will also be tied to a senior strategic sales member, marketing, and or vice president of sales. Furthermore, the BDR’s territory will consist of following up with all Training prospects and working directly with the marketing department on leveraging leads funneled from Account Based Marketing and followed up on.
Metrics: BDR will need to schedule make on average 50 calls a day, 250 calls a week, and average (roughly) 15-20 sales accepted leads per month depending on campaigns being ran.
