About the Job
Our client is seeking a Business Development Representative to join their team in Garden City, NY. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday with the potential for a hybrid work schedule after completing training.
The Business Development Representative (“BDR”), Commercial Division, is responsible for securing new clients for the Company’s commercial division. Working closely with the Company Leadership group (including the CEO and VP of the Commercial Division) and Marketing team, this professional will target law firms and corporations. The BDR will forge relationships with key decision makers, understand their business challenges/ protocol and introduce the company’s capabilities. The BDR will collaborate with the team, craft and deliver the proposal and close the deal. Once closed, the BDR will ensure the Commercial Case Management team is fully up-to-speed and well positioned for success.
Responsibilities
- Prospect target accounts with a focus upon (a) New York area law firms and (b) corporations throughout the US
- Pursue Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and respond to RFP opportunities
- Engage prospective clients and build relationships
- Identify prospective client pain points and business objectives while gaining an understanding of culture and methodologies
- Advocate for Alternative Dispute Resolution, and optimize and present the company’s value proposition
- Present company unmatched Neutral panels and highlight applicable specializations to prospective clients
- Gain a deep understanding of the company Commercial portfolio of sophisticated rules and methodologies associated with each program
- Understand the Company’s unique technology platforms and case management systems and be able to present the differentiation that these great assets offer to clients
- Communicate and follow-up with precision and timeliness
- Network, attend conferences and business social events (i.e. Bar Associations, Trial Lawyer events) to deepen and widen relationship base
- Log all activity in the Company’s CRM system, prepare weekly reports and attend sales meetings
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws and ethical principles
Requirements
- Experience selling within the legal/litigation ecosystem; 4 plus years’ experience preferred
- Knowledge of and relationships with New York law firms and corporations is an important consideration
- Impeccable communication skills—both written and verbal
- Strong work ethic and passion for serving demanding clients
- Curiosity that drives knowledge and meaningful engagement of client and their organization
Education
- Bachelor’s degree
- Law degree a plus but not required
