About the position:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for sourcing, identifying, and qualifying new business leads to build the pipeline for Senior Business Development Representatives (Sr. BDRs). This role is critical in generating initial interest and ensuring that high-quality prospects are passed on to the senior team for follow-up and closing.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead Generation
- Research and identify potential clients using various tools (13F data, LinkedIn, Salesforce.com (IPREO Data), industry reports, Google alerts, etc.).
- Execute outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, and social media to create new business opportunities.
- Collect and manage contact information of potential clients to ensure accurate data entry into the CRM system.
- Map relationships with other clients, employees and key industry stakeholders for referrals.
- Qualifying Leads
- Engage with prospects to understand their business needs, challenges, and requirements.
- Qualify leads based on predefined criteria, ensuring they align with the company’s ideal customer profile (ICP) and recording key scoring rubrics (AT Fit Score, AT Believiness Score, CenterBook Partners (CBP) Fit Score, Interest in CBP Score).
- Conduct preliminary research on prospects to better understand their potential fit with the company’s offerings and better target marketing and outreach campaigns.
- Collaboration with Senior BDRs
- Work closely with Senior BDRs to pass qualified leads for further nurturing and closing.
- Participate in weekly pipeline review meetings with Sr. BDRs and the sales team to discuss the status of leads and prospects.
- Participate in the weekly sales calls and be prepared to discuss best leads and opportunities.
- Provide feedback to the Sr. BDRs on lead quality and trends observed in the market.
- Salesforce.com Management
- Maintain accurate and updated records in the CRM, ensuring all interactions (calls and emails), follow-ups, and relevant data are properly documented.
- Regularly update the CRM system with new leads and contact details to ensure the database remains current and organized.
- Market Research and Intelligence
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify new opportunities.
- Search for interesting articles, podcasts and other resources which could be useful for providing insights to the business development and marketing teams.
- Provide regular feedback on the effectiveness of outreach strategies and tools.
- KPIs and Metrics
- Meet or exceed monthly activity and lead generation goals.
- Meet or exceed Qualified Partner Fund Targets Goal.
- Continuous Learning and Development
- Participate in regular training and development sessions to stay updated on company products, services, and industry best practices.
- Actively seek feedback and coaching from Sr. BDRs and managers to improve performance and sales skills.
Requirements

- Experience: 1+ years in business development, sales, or a related role.
- Mindset: Eager to learn, grow, and develop within the sales or business development career path.
Nice to Haves:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Tech Savvy: Experience with CRM tools and lead-generation platforms is a plus.
- Financial Industry Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the financial industry, particularly for hedge fund operations, strategies, and key industry trends, as well as the ability to engage with prospects using relevant financial terminology.
What you’ll be measured on:
- Calls per week/month
- Number of meetings and opportunities generated per week/month.
- Meeting to opportunities conversion rate.
- CRM data accuracy and cleanliness.
Benefits
How you’ll be compensated:
- Base Salary: $35,000 per year
- Activity Bonus: $12,000 per year ($1,000 per month based on meeting targeted call and meetings volume).
- Commission: 4% of deals closed. Expected to be $5-10K per year.
