About the Job
Position Summary:
The Business Development Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Mercury Insurance University Program, designed to onboard and train new agents in the insurance industry to successfully grow their agency. This role involves developing comprehensive training curricula, coordinating learning initiatives, and fostering a supportive environment for new agents to thrive. The Program Manager will collaborate with various departments and partnering groups to ensure agents receive the tools and resources necessary for success.
The Program Manager will report to the Director of Sales Development.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Program Implementation and Strategy
• Implement, and continuously improve the Mercury Insurance University Program, ensuring alignment with Company goals and industry standards.
• Engage and enhance the partnership of the program with the independent agent group responsible for delivering the ‘building a successful agency’ course modules.
Curriculum Design and Training Delivery
• Create engaging training materials, including presentations, modules, and workshops tailored to new agents.
• Facilitate live training sessions, webinars, and workshops to enhance agents' skills in underwriting, claims processing, and customer relationship management.
Mentorship and Support
• Establish a mentorship program pairing new agents with experienced professionals for guidance and support.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to new agents, helping them navigate challenges and encouraging success.
Program Evaluation and Reporting
• Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics.
• Utilize sales analytics to track performance against targets and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with other departments and partner agent group to ensure new agents receive comprehensive training to successfully build their agency and grow profitably.
• Maintain open lines of communication with agents, encouraging feedback and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Industry Engagement
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the training curriculum remains relevant and effective.
• Represent Mercury Insurance at industry events and conferences to promote the University Program and attract new talent.
• Identify cost-effective solutions for program delivery while maintaining high-quality training standards.
Budget Management
• Develop and manage the program budget, tracking expenses related to training materials, events, and resources.

Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Insurance, or a related field.
Preferred: Relevant certifications (e.g., CPCU, CIC) and Master’s degree.
Experience:
Minimum: Minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, insurance sales, or a related field.
Preferred: Prior experience in a management role.
Skills & Abilities
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to engage and motivate learners.
• Knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and sales techniques is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in training software and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Pay Range:USD $89,906.00 - USD $162,157.00 /Yr.
