The primary role of the Business Development Professional is to generate revenue from potential customers and increase wallet share of existing customers by networking, calling or other means. They are required to grow and retain existing accounts by planning persuasive approaches and presenting new solutions and services in order to convince customers to increase their business volume with the company. The Business Development Professional works with mid and senior level management, inside sales executives, marketing, and technical staff.

Job Details
The primary role of the Business Development Professional is to generate revenue from potential customers and increase wallet share of existing customers by networking, calling or other means. They are required to grow and retain existing accounts by planning persuasive approaches and presenting new solutions and services in order to convince customers to increase their business volume with the company. The Business Development Professional works with mid and senior level management, inside sales executives, marketing, and technical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively promotes products and services utilizing ASLAN Sales principles and communicating value propositions to customers;
- Provides exceptional personal customer service to all internal and external customers;
- Directs, monitors, and consolidates Salesforce data in order to jointly develop account strategies and tactics with the team;
- Listens to and manages resolution of customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to the team;
- Proactively conducts sales calls, to identify the customer’s needs and opportunities, learn about the customer’s business, our competitor’s actions, and the BAS industry;
- Meets and maintains all minimum sales activity levels to include attainment of sales revenue/margin quotas, call activity, quote and quote follow up;
- Develops and implements sales strategies to achieve all goals associated with assigned accounts by analyzing sales statistics and call data to achieve total spend opportunity in each account;
- Drives sales team efforts to generate, advance, close and regenerate pipeline. Owns individual sales production related to larger, strategic, or complex segments;
- Works collaboratively with other team members as necessary to maximize sales opportunities while not diverting from core sales responsibilities;
- Participates in the coaching and developing of sales teams to enable the development of others;
- Participates in business reviews between customer decision makers and company’s practice leaders/principals;
- Works with team to develop proposals that speak to customers’ needs, concerns, and objectives;
- Aids organization and activity of team efforts to maximize effectiveness, and provides day to day coaching support;
- Works with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs;
- Arranges and participates in internal and external client debriefs;
- Create and maintain relationships that enable in person visits and focused sales engagements;
- Works with mid- and senior-level management on business trends in order to develop new services, products, and distribution channels;
- Identifies opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales;
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identifies and develops the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators that connect to the unique business needs of assigned customers;
- Co-creates and maintains account management plan.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate/bachelor's degree;
- Minimum of five years of related work experience;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Must have knowledge of the BAS industry to include the role of customers, consultants, contractors, and end users as well as a basic knowledge of BAS applications and products.
