The Business Development Manager will drive market adoption and grow customer base of our Threshold™ Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIPs) products in a variety of applications including, but not limited to: cold chain logistics, scientific freezers, cryogenic applications and refrigerated transportation. Threshold VIPs provide exceptionally high R values, increased energy savings, increased usable volume, and very long panel life for thermal product designs. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this essential business team member will be accountable for researching and identifying new business opportunities; developing and implementing growth strategies; and effectively closing on profitable opportunities. This individual must be astute in developing targeted relationships built on trust; uncovering pathways for delivering value-based solutions; and engaging effectively to build out a pipeline of new business opportunities. Key strategic deliverables include developing collaborative relationships with colleagues across the business, leading by influence to enroll internal & external resources, and creating an executable territory plan.

The ideal candidate for this role would be located in Columbus, Cleveland or Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA, Pittsburgh, PA or Indianapolis, IN.

Pay range is $120-$130k + bonus opportunities. 

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Develop a business strategy for expanding adoption and customer base of Kingspan Threshold™ VIPs
2. Develop and execute a Territory Plan for achieving business strategy and goals.
3. Preserve base business, while identifying profitable growth opportunities in new applications and with new customers.
4. Build a pipeline of opportunities to create a sales forecast and achieve business growth goals.
5. Serve as a trusted professional for providing technical support, customer service and product training.
6. Provide exceptional support for customers by following up on opportunities and resolving issues in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies.
7. Represent company at trade association meetings and industry associations to establish appropriate market presence for promoting Kingspan product solutions.
8. Collaborate with Sales colleagues, Technical, Marketing and other key resource capabilities across business for success.
9. Perform all work in a safe manner, while also promoting and fostering a safe work environment.

2. Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations and market demands. 
3. Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of Compliance Management System. 
4. Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (preferably Engineering degree) from an accredited university plus at least 5-7 years of outside business-to-business (B2B) technical sales experience with insulation products; OR high school diploma or GED plus 6-8 years of relevant industry experience in business-to-business (B2B) technical sales of packaging or insulation products.

Must have:

• Solid track record as a Business Development Manager or similar technical sales role.
• Ability to work remote with high degree of engagement and accountability.
• Knowledge and experience with insulation materials used in cryogenic and other cold-temperature applications would be plus.
• Ability to grasp and convey complex engineered product concepts.
• Adept at acquiring a comprehensive understanding of product features and benefits.
• Proficient in identifying customer needs and presenting effective solutions.
• Strong selling skills with a proven ability to forge partnerships and close sales.
• Robust prospecting and forecasting abilities to anticipate market trends.
• Exceptional teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational capabilities, with keen attention to detail, along with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with and proficiency in business computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office

Travel: Travel will vary but will be approximately 50-60% between meeting with customers, attending industry events, visiting plants and attending intercompany meetings.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate orally and written in English.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to forecast accurately.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in non-standardized situations.

Certificate/License: Valid driver’s license with record clean enough to be acceptable to our insurance carrier.
