About the Job
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving sales efforts in the construction sector. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship building, and industry expertise. The position is based in Vacaville, CA, but the successful candidate must be open to travel throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area to meet with clients, attend meetings, and represent the company at industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction sector.
Create and execute strategies to generate leads, close sales, and expand market presence.
Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
Relationship Building & Networking:
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, contractors, and industry professionals.
Represent the company at meetings, industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Market Research & Strategy:
Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activity, and potential clients.
Stay updated on construction industry regulations, trends, and innovations.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with the internal team, including project managers, estimators, and leadership, to ensure client needs are met and projects are delivered successfully.
Provide regular updates on sales activities, business development initiatives, and pipeline progress.
Travel:
Travel throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area as needed for client meetings, site visits, and business development activities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the construction or related industry.
Proven track record of securing new business, managing client relationships, and meeting sales targets.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including key players, trends, and best practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel around the Sacramento and Bay Area.
A company car will be provided for business-related travel.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $90,000 - $120,000 annually (including commission).
