Job DescriptionThe Manager, Business Development is responsible for pursuing and executing new commercial & strategic partnerships with global fintechs, AI companies, non-card enablers, and emerging digital platforms. The role requires a balanced mix of solutioning, sales, partnership development, and thought leadership. Successful candidates with have shown and can clearly demonstrate strong business and product acumen, deep industry experience, business development experience, and an individual who can formulate and pursue strategies to find meaningful growth for Visa.
Essential Functions
This role includes understanding in depth both Visa and our partner’s capabilities, needs, and goals and driving towards successful outcomes which could come in the form of non-traditional deal execution, new product or market launches, solutioning and pilots, growing existing business lines, or other strategic priorities. This is an opportunity to join Visa’s newly created global growth team, which matches key global partners with product-oriented Visa partnerships teams. The remit will be focused around forging new commercial structures and non-traditional product partnerships within key emerging segments.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Self-starter who is driven and can find ways to move things forward, with ability to connect dots on complex ecosystem, across dozens of products and hundreds of prospects and potential partners
- Leads by example, including enthusiasm and takes pride in their work, with a strong bias towards action
- Significant related product, sales and management experience in the payments and/or financial services industry, with particular preferred experience in AI, cross border money movement, card networks, account to account payments, etc
- Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex, competitive commercial deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery
- Experience 'managing up', building Executive Level communications and delivering presentations
- Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions
- Strong storytelling capabilities and passion for improving financial services
- Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
- Soft skills including genuine and open communication, active listening, compassionate, and inspires others
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,300.00 to 191,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
