The Business Development Manager will lead the sales efforts for the company’s state-of-the-art forecasting product. This role focuses on engaging with IPPs, developers, grid operators, and utilities to deliver solutions that enhance the financial and operational performance of renewable energy portfolios. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, building lasting relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the adoption of AI-powered forecasting tools in the renewable energy market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically drive sales initiatives for the company’s AI-powered forecasting product to energy customers, including IPPs, utilities, and grid operators.
- Develop and manage sales strategies tailored to market, region, and customer-specific needs to optimize growth opportunities.
- Establish distribution partnerships with software companies, energy consultants, and system integrators.
- Build strong relationships with C-level decision-makers, effectively communicating the value proposition and key differentiators of the company’s solutions.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create targeted materials and support customer engagement initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and webinars to enhance brand recognition and drive lead generation.
- Lead the organization of customer events, including product demonstrations and workshops.
- Maintain a robust sales funnel, ensuring timely follow-ups and achievement of revenue goals.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5+ years of software sales experience to renewable energy or utility customers (SaaS/Cloud).
- Demonstrated ability to secure complex software deals with senior decision-makers and a proven track record of success in selling to energy players.
- Strong sales acumen with a passion for closing deals, coupled with deep knowledge of evolving energy markets.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 DOE + commission
