Overview
The Tyndale Company, an 8x Top Workplace winner in PA/4x Top Workplace winner in TX and certified woman-owned business, is growing our sales team with the addition of a new Business Development Manager.
The Business Development Manager oversees the daily operations, performance, and growth of the Business Development Representative (BDR) team while directly contributing to the lead generation, pipeline development, and customer acquisition. This role focuses on team leadership, sales process optimization, and alignment with company-wide strategies to achieve pipeline growth and successful customer onboarding. The position also includes direct involvement in the selling and implementation of Tyndale's Small Account Solutions and the transition of large, qualified leads to the Sales team.
Hybrid/Remote: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This Manager will work 2 days a week onsite, and 3 days a week remote and to be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Bucks County, PA for onsite work needed.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Supervision• Supervise, mentor, and coach the BDR team to achieve individual and team goals.• Actively observe BDRs during their sales presentations to provide constructive feedback, guidance, and support. Mentor team members to improve their communication, presentation skills, and confidence when engaging with prospects.• Recruit, hire, and onboard new BDR members.• Conduct regular performance reviews, create development plans, and manage team scorecards.• Provide training on outreach techniques, sales tools (e.g., CRM, sales enablement platforms), and messaging to improve team efficiency and results.• Address performance issues and implement corrective actions, as necessary.
Pipeline and Lead Management• Oversee the qualification and development of leads to ensure a consistent flow of opportunities for both small accounts and large potential customers.• Conduct outbound calls and emails to qualify leads where information is limited.• Collaborate with Sales team to effectively transfer warmed leads• Schedule regular discussions with Sales teams to align on target prospects and updates.• Monitor BDR performance metrics and provide actionable feedback to optimize productivity.
Sales and Account Management• Close new small accounts and manage their onboarding process.• Ensure smooth implementation for new customers through detailed follow-up within the first 30-60 days.• Utilize CRM and tools like ZoomInfo and LinkedIn to update account information and track lead progression.• Work with Sales Administration and Account Specialists to transition closed business to the implementation phase seamlessly.
Process Optimization and Reporting• Regularly assess and refine BDR processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall team performance.• Ensure accurate and up-to-date CRM records for all interactions and lead statuses.• Assist with departmental budgeting responsibilities.• Monitor and report on sales activities, performance metrics, and progress toward goals.
Collaboration and Representation• Represent the BDR team at national and regional tradeshows.• Assist in researching and identifying new prospective customers to enhance the sales pipeline.• Stay informed on new product updates and marketing campaigns to support effective outreach
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.• 2+ years of relevant experience in sales or business development with cold calling required, or 4+ years of Tyndale experience in Sales and/or Account Services• 2+ years of supervisory experience required.• CRM management experience (1+ year).• Proficiency in MS Office and sales enablement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and coach.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• High level of organization and time management.• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.• Comfortable with limited travel (5-10%).
