Business Development Manager Opportunity in Transportation Industry
Our company is seeking an experienced and highly competent Business Development Manager to join our expanding team in the dynamic fields of Courier Services, Non-emergency Medical Transportation, and Warehousing Solutions. Our team consists of seasoned professionals and we offer a fully equipped 20,000 square foot warehouse to provide top-notch distribution solutions to our clients.
As we continue to grow our business, we are looking for a Business Development Manager with a minimum of 5 years' experience to help us attract and retain new clients. You will play a crucial role in the company's success by utilizing your industry knowledge and skills to expand our client base and drive growth.
About Our Company:
- Well-established Transportation Company
- Offers short to long term storage, rework, cross dock, picking/packing services
- Provides LTL Solutions for clients in need of more than just truckload services
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential carriers to create a network of dependable service providers
- Obtain and assess client information to determine their shipping requirements
- Generate shipping quotes from carriers for clients
- Book necessary freight services with carriers for clients
- Coordinate pick-up and drop-off of shipments
- Monitor shipment progress to ensure timely and undamaged delivery
- Maintain accurate client records by updating the customer management software
- Advise clients on possible supply chain challenges and provide effective solutions
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Background in Courier Sales preferred
- Strong industry connections are essential
- Proven ability to negotiate favorable shipping rates with shippers and carriers
- Outstanding customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Entrepreneurial mindset and drive for business growth
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- High-speed internet connection and phone for remote work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
