Business Development Manager - Insurance Carrier - Base Salary to 120k/year - Nashville, TN
- Our client, a 25+ year privately held workers compensation insurance specialist, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. They are licensed and operate in 20+ states and have over 1,000+ Independent Agency Contracts. They are looking for a self-motivated and determined Business Development Manager to cover the entire state of Tennessee.
Responsibilities:
- The Business Development Manager will be responsible for representing them to the independent retail agency plants within their identified territory or state. This includes interacting with existing contracted agency partners as well the development and appointment of new agency partners. The goal of effective representation is to maintain and grow profitable writings. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for defining their underwriting appetite for new and renewal business, as well as detailing all services provided to agency partners and their insured’s. These services include; billing, claims handling, loss control, and auditing. The role requires significant daily travel, 3-4 agency appointments per day (15-20 agency appointments per week), as well as potential over-night travel.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in business development, marketing, or sales within insurance.
- Experience calling on existing agency partners and developing & appointing new agency partners.
- Multi-line or workers compensation experience required.
- Having existing agency relationships is preferred.

Compensation:
- Base salary in the 60k - 120k/year range, plus monthly and quarterly incentives. Full benefits package including health insurance, unlimited PTO, Paid Holidays, Summer Fridays, 401k with a match, etc.
