HIRING A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER IN HOUSTON
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Business Development Manager serves DBR firm-wide by researching and developing new leads, planning persuasive approaches and pitches, and outlining actionable targets to chart progress. Work collaboratively with Market Leads to devise and implement a strategic plan to generate interest from potential clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate and assist with the development and implementation of Business Development plans to target key clients and markets of focus for office core practice groups
- Provide input to strategic plans based on market research
- Research new business potential and develop new leads, with a focus on specific practices as assigned
- Conduct market research and gather information on potential clients and projects
- Research cross-marketing opportunities within firm’s existing client base
- Stay abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate within assigned market sectors
- Identify clients within key areas of specialty and developing applicable sales strategy for each
- Lead Business Development meetings firm-wide and ensure Market groups are on track with Market sector BD Plans
- Will supervise at least one Business Development Coordinator, who will assist primarily with in-house efforts. Firm-wide business development efforts will require periodic travel to several cities in the State of Texas where DBR is actively pursuing work.
- Seek opportunities to strengthen client relationships
- Identify, develop, and/or maintain client contacts with key prospects
- Work with management and technical staff to identify project opportunities and strengthen current business ties

- Assist with the development of key client relationship management skill sets for technical staff

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of related work experience
Technical/Associate Degree with 5 years of related work experience
High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related work experience
