About the Job
The Account Manager is responsible for new business development for HGA and strategically supporting existing clients to continue to build and strengthen our relationships.
• Responsible for developing leads for new clients, projects, and other services offered by Hunt Guillot & Associates.
• Develop relationships with potential new customers throughout various business industries and areas.
• Identify and report any issues that need addressing with the customer.
• Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and existing clients.
• Be attentive to customers’ needs and be capable of evaluating those needs and offering solutions and assessments as necessary.
• Participate in social interactions with Clients outside the office, as needed.
• Establish clientele at the Corporate level.
• Identify positing requiring winning projects; positioning includes understanding price, qualifications, schedule expectations, and client decision makers.
• Utilize third-party resources such as contractors, suppliers, engineering firms, and service firms to solicit business and gather information required to pursue leads.
• Develop and pursue sales leads through cold calling and networking with potential clients and through trade shows or industry publications.
• Follow up on all sales leads from incoming inquiries (written, email, and via telephone) and through cold calling and networking activities.
• Prepare and present technical sales presentations to potential clients.
• Identify trade shows and seminars that improve position in the marketplace.
• Assist with budget review, proposal development, presentations, and negotiations as necessary.
• Coordinate proposal development and presentations. Participate in upper management meetings to provide market knowledge and strategies.
• Participate in senior management meetings to provide market knowledge and strategies.
•Be able to collect data, including but not limited to clients’ capital plans and planning process, org-chart structure, key decision makers, and other information.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or other related discipline, or Associate’s Degree and related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in business development is required; engineering consulting experience is required.
• Business development contacts in the down-stream oil & gas, pulp & paper, specialty chemical, or renewables industries required.
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Proficient in using MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
• Proficiency in using social media, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc., is a plus.
• Experience with budgeting processes.
• Able and willing to travel.
• Must be located in Ruston, LA or Baton Rouge, LA or The Woodlands, TX or Dallas, TX or Tulsa, OK.
