About the role
The Business Development Manager for Hedge Funds will play a pivotal role in driving growth within our Hedge Fund client segment. This role is designed for an experienced sales professional who can manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial outreach to closing deals.
You will be responsible for sourcing new opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with prospective hedge fund clients, conducting product demos, overseeing trials, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure success. This position will be integral to expanding our presence in this segment and will be expected to have a close relationship with our product teams to help tailor our offer to hedge funds.
Key responsibilities you will be in charge of
- Own the Full Sales Process: Take full responsibility for the end-to-end sales process in your territory, including sourcing new leads, qualifying opportunities, initiating product trials, and closing new clients.
- Client Engagement During Trials: Partner with account management and delivery teams throughout the trial period to ensure high engagement, leading to successful deal closure.
- Forecasting & Pipeline Development: Accurately forecast potential opportunities and develop a healthy pipeline to consistently exceed annual sales quotas.
- Market and Product Insights: Gather and share feedback from prospects with product and delivery teams to help continuously improve our solutions and align with market needs.
- ICP Refinement: Collaborate with internal teams to refine the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) specific to the hedge fund market segment, helping tailor outreach and marketing efforts.
- Client & Market Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the hedge fund market’s unique challenges, ensuring our product aligns well with client pain points.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records within Salesforce to ensure a clear, transparent sales pipeline.
About you
You are a driven sales professional with a consultative approach, skilled in exceeding targets, identifying client needs, and delivering strategic solutions within the hedge fund industry.
Requirements to succeed in this role
- Experience in SaaS/Primary Research Sales: At least 3+ years of experience selling subscription-based SaaS or primary research products.
- Track Record in Sales: Proven ability to consistently exceed sales targets.
- Interest in New Products: Enthusiasm for selling innovative or emerging products/services.
- Curiosity & Insight: Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, effectively identifies client challenges, and crafts solutions that meet their needs.
- Communication & Organization: Strong communicator with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing complex sales processes efficiently.
- Collaborative Spirit: A team player with a proactive attitude, contributing positively to a motivated and high-energy team.
