Dechen Consulting Group (DCG) is searching for an experienced Business Development Manager to help achieve the company's growth goals in Information Technology consulting services. As an MBE certified IT consulting company, DCG is looking for growth opportunities with medium and large sized businesses, domestically and abroad in diverse industries, outside of the Automotive spectrum. Candidates for the Business Development Manager should have a proven track record of success in sales and extensive business development (minimum 7+ years), including building a vast network of business relationships, cold-calling and client prospecting, resulting in a minimum of $5M in annual revenues within a 3-year timeframe.
DCG is highly involved in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) sector, which requires strong consultative selling to gain an in-depth understanding of client needs and opportunities. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a history of C-Level relationships and relationship management, as this position is a pure business development role.
The ideal candidate will have a successful background in the full sales, marketing & development lifecycle within the IT industry. Experience with selling Business and IT Professional Consulting Services, Projects and Application Managed Services, and ERP Consulting Services (Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, Salesforce, etc.); Digital Transformation / Mobility / Cloud / IOT / Analytics solutions is a plus.
Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational Marketing and Customer Relationship activities. Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate Professional Services & Custom development ideas to help grow the Firm.
Job Requirements:
- Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational Marketing and Customer Relationship activities.
- Take ownership of the management of the sales and marketing functions of the business.
- Working to stringent targets, the job holder will be required to adopt a professional and knowledgeable approach to each new business call.
- Planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets.
- Strong Client Presentation Skills (In-Person and Virtual / Remote)
- Ensure New sale quotas are met, and new business relationships are developed, built, and grown
- Prepare and submit sales activity metrics, pipelines and sales forecasts
- Maintain all prospective customer data in the company database or other and use the information contained therein as the sole resource for prospective customer and partner interactions
- Identify areas of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions
- Keep up to date on market trends and new products
- Ideally, based out of Michigan, and willing to travel to client sites
- Stay abreast of industry matters through third party resources and networks
- Sell services and reach revenue quotas for new Clients, Partners and/or new Strategic Alliances service customers, establishing and growing relationships with large and midsize OEMs, Tier-1s, Outsourcers and Strategic Partners
- Collaborate with teammates and maintain a positive and professional attitude fostering teamwork
- Achieve quota for number of contacts/activity with prospective partners/customers
- Develop, present and implement plans for acquiring new partners/customers and traction. This would include activity breakdowns, performance milestones, resource requirements and other metrics.
- Work collaboratively with DCG Offshore and Onshore resources (Program Development, Recruiting, Developers, etc.) to help deliver solutions effectively, efficiently, and within the prescribed timelines and costs
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales revenue and margins in selling IT services to the Manufacturing, Automotive, Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Banking & Financial Services, Retail, Insurance, Higher Education, or other Non-Automotive industries.
Minimum Experience Requirements of the role
7+ years' Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
- Must have experience of working in a corporate/business focused environment
- Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
- Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
- Strong account management and relationship building skills.
- Experience of managing major national accounts.
- Highly self-motivated.
