Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will focus on expanding the company's market presence, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the utilities industry, including regulatory environments, market trends, and technological advancements. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in business development or sales within the utilities sector.
Job Duties:
- Gather and analyze market intelligence, including competitive insights and industry trends.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while supporting operations teams by managing existing accounts to diversify revenue streams.
- Conduct service demonstrations, such as "lunch and learns," and represent the company at industry trade shows.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships and contribute to the preparation of responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals).
- Enter and manage data within the CRM system.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the Utility industry preferred in Business Development, Engineering, or Project Management capacities
- Business / Sales Degree accepted
- Prior experience working with utilities or engineering services firm
- Ability and desire to travel 3 to 4 times per month (50-70% travel) as needed
