The Business Development Director will be based in the Chatsworth, CA headquarters.
The salary range is $181k - $190k. Wage to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data.

Summary
The Business Development Director will be responsible for creating demand from both existing customer relationships and targeted leads. The role involves full cycle business engagement for appointed customers, keeping pace with the demands of a rapidly growing business, anticipating problems, synthesizing appropriate solutions, and providing the expertise necessary to effectively execute business development initiatives. Candidates must have a high level of initiative, energy, and drive, and possess the ability to articulate complex technical data.
Essential Job Elements
- Maintain, build, and expand existing and new accounts and relationships to facilitate increased sales.
- Create and execute customer leads that build a personal sales pipeline.
- Leverage industry relationships to understand the competitive landscape and provide an advantage.
- Negotiate large dollar contracts while maintaining a positive, long-term working relationship with customers.
- Ensure competitors' products, services, and pricing are continually monitored, surveyed, analyzed, and reported.
- Seek customer feedback to improve the ability to service customers.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, seminars, and events as required.
- Assist in developing pricing strategies to maximize market share and profit both in the short and long term.
- Work within all internal cross-functional areas as required to promote and deliver complex solutions to market and customer needs.
Work Experience
- Extensive sales management experience within electronic contract manufacturing or other relevant industry.
- Minimum 10 years in relevant technical sales and marketing with exposure or direct experience in the military/defense market or equivalent.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Travel is a requirement for this role.
Skills/Knowledge
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate teams within tight timeframes and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Effectively interface with customers and principals at various procurement, management, and engineering levels.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate technical concepts at a high level.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Education/Learning Experience
- BA/BS or equivalent.
