We are looking for a Director of Business Development - API to join our team in the US. The Director of Business Development will successfully prospect and sell solutions and services via a consultative selling approach within assigned bio/pharm clients. The role will be to generate and maintain profitable business relations with partners, Promote Pharmaron as the CRO of choice to prospective clients, and manage and enhance on-going business relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve agreed sales and profit budgets/targets as a member of the European business development team.
- Promote Pharmaron as the CRO of choice to prospective clients across Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the Business Development Director responsible for this territory.
- Map, identify, cultivate, manage and maintain professional relationships with clients that match the segment profile of target Pharmaron customers.
- Be familiar with Pharmaron capabilities at a broad level such that wider and more meaningful conversations can be held with clients and prospective clients which could also lead to further attractive commercial arrangements.
- Be familiar with areas of work and focus undertaken by other Business Development personnel such that "cross selling" opportunities can be captured for the business.
- Actively contribute and influence the development of a compelling Value Proposition that attracts clients to engage Pharmaron.
- Actively and professionally promote the company, positioning it as a reputable partner to deliver high quality solutions for the client and convert enquiries of interest into profitable contracts of work.
- Work with Pharmaron scientists to formulate business proposals and presentations based on a good understanding of resources, materials and other inputs required to deliver projects such that those proposals can be developed into profitable commercial contracts.
- In representing the company, liaise with Pharmaron scientists to ensure that client expectations are realistic and can be achieved.
- Identify and access sources of information that provide excellent market intelligence of the developments within the pharmaceutical industry and share that information internally to enhance understanding and potentially identify new business opportunities.
- Support the broader Business Development team through contribution on special projects as and when required.
- The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted strictly in accordance with company Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
- Respect the confidentiality of information obtained in the course of duties performed and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent from Management, except where disclosure is required by law or by the order of a Court
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in bioscience/regulatory/clinical development or relevant discipline. Prefer a Master's/PhD in life sciences and biotech with a business degree/training.
- At least five years of sales and marketing experience in a pharmaceutical/CRO or clinical research business.
