This Business Development Consultant at AgWorks (a McGregor Technologies Company) will be responsible for planning and co-coordinating sales efforts with the existing team in order to help the company attain sales goals. This position will report directly to the Director of Sales, however a consultative and autonomous mindset are required in order to effectively manage our day-to-day strategies. As Business Development Consultant you will be one of the driving forces among our sales team. An ability to work quickly, honestly and effectively to build relationships with our prospects/customers/partners will play a big part in setting the stage for the sales department.
This is a remote position. We are looking for the right candidate within the appropriate regional area.
- Location: This position will operate in a Central/Eastern Region. Ideal candidates will reside in or close to one of the following areas: Illinois, Indiana, Southern Wisconsin, Southern Michigan, Eastern Iowa.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Services existing accounts, manages contracts, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales leads.
- Travel is expected as required to meet the company sales goals.
- Will work closely with the sales team in order to be as efficient and productive as possible with daily tasks.
- Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales opportunity.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying target audience and organizing opportunities.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, marketing techniques, etc.
- Recommends changes in products/service by assessing customer/prospect needs as well as competitive developments.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Provides historical records by maintaining personal records on area and sales.
- Assists in organizing a consistent social media presence for the company.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 6 years of related sales experience
- Educational background in Agriculture/Sales/Marketing is preferred
- Experience in large group presentations required
- Confidence with learning new products and ability to effectively relay attained knowledge
- Possess a passion for finding and selling to new customers
- Have history in understanding and managing healthy business relationships
- Ability to motivate and encourage other salespeople in a positive manner
- Experience in extensive prospecting of sales leads and effective management of a sales funnel
- Retains a track record of success in closing sales and delivering on prospect/customer commitments
- Willingness to travel in order to attain sales goals and meet the needs of customers
- Familiarity will the Agriculture industry is preferred
