As a Business Development Associate - Mergers & Acquisitions, you will support our Managing Directors in growing their business segments. This role involves a mix of prospecting, CRM management, meeting coordination, and industry research. You will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining relationships with business owners and prospects, driving business growth, and contributing to all aspects of the M&A cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Identify targets, conduct prospect research, organize lists, and maintain detailed notes using CRM technology.
- Update and maintain the CRM, manage pipelines, oversee dashboards, reports, and follow-up activities.
- Attend calls/Zoom meetings, take detailed notes, potentially travel to in-person meetings, and log notes into the CRM.
- Assist with follow-up items from meetings, coordinate responses with internal teams, and oversee material follow-up requests.
- Develop and track progress, conduct periodic industry reviews, and assist in developing plans to drive business growth.
- Develop prospect lists through warm/cold calling, drive attendance to meetings/events, and strengthen relationships with target companies.
- Generate and report on leads, set up qualified appointments, and move opportunities through the M&A pipeline.
- Obtain financial and operational information about target companies, conduct basic financial modeling, and participate in due diligence as applicable.
- Support the preparation of marketing materials, pitch books, and client presentations.
- Assist in developing strategic initiatives to enhance client engagement and retention.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of investment banking experience as an investment banking analyst is preferred but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and polish to speak with business owners, senior executives, and external professional firms.
- High energy, self-starter attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Interest in conducting thoughtful analysis and creating concise presentations for senior executives.
- Ability to focus on providing exemplary client service.
- Experience in developing strategies in a team setting.
- High attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM technology.
- Solutions-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Desire for a long-term, high-quality career with growth opportunities.
- Good sense of humor is a must.
Compensation:
- Full Time
- Base salary plus commission, based on experience.
