The Job
The role of Business Development Administrator is to assist commercial loan and business development officers in servicing the borrowing and depository needs of Bellwether's commercial customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a reliable and professional contact for member service when officer is not available.
- Receives, inputs and processes new small business loan applications through BCCU's Digital Business Lending Center portal.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on Bellwether's business deposit products, extended services, processes, and operations.
- Supports credit union sales goals and calling initiatives; May be relied upon for outbound sales calling, tracking and marketing efforts.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for retail branch staff and contact center for initial screening purposes and assistance with depository and small business loan referrals.
- Boarding and maintenance of loans and deposit account on Keystone (core operating system)
- Closes small business loans as necessary, within scope of authority.
- Communicates with members on the status of their deposit and loan request(s).
- Perform general administrative support functions as needed.
- Must understand and comply with all BSA Regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of bank or credit union experience to include strong knowledge of financial products, services, and regulations in addition to a basic working knowledge of commercial lending practices.
- Exhibit positive attitude and professionalism, displaying role-model behavior in all situations, and creates motivation.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent personal organization and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a professional manner. Ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Excels at internal and external relationship building by developing, expanding and retaining business and other key member and coworker relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, outside professionals, and other employees of the organization.
- Have a basic knowledge of financial and borrowing terminology and applications.
- Mathematical Skills: High school level of basic mathematics. Ability to compute ratios, percentages, and interest rates.
- Ability to make sound decisions and exceptions to processes or procedures when warranted.
