About the Job
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Dental Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient appointments, ensuring smooth patient flow, and delivering excellent customer service. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will act as the primary point of contact for patients, helping them navigate their treatment plans and facilitating communication between patients and the dental team. This position will also travel to other locations for coverage and will help with special projects.
Schedule (days/hours):Changes based on office hours- please be flexible- traveling positionResponsibilities:- Patient Scheduling: Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of the dentist’s time and accommodating patient needs. Handle rescheduling or cancellations as necessary.
- Patient Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for patients, answering calls, emails, and other inquiries. Provide information on treatments, procedures, office policies, and insurance coverage.
- Treatment Planning: Assist patients in understanding their treatment options and coordinate care with the dental team. Help patients make informed decisions about their treatment plans and follow-up visits.
- Insurance Verification: Verify dental insurance coverage, inform patients of their benefits, and assist with pre-authorizations and claims submission. Ensure all necessary documentation is provided to insurance companies.
- Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Greet patients upon arrival, verify patient information, update medical records, and collect necessary paperwork. Ensure patients are comfortable and informed during check-in and check-out.
- Financial Transactions: Handle patient payments, process billing, and set up payment plans or financing options when necessary. Track patient accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with educational materials and instructions for pre- and post-treatment care. Answer patient questions regarding procedures, insurance, and payments.
- Office Administration: Maintain organized patient records, update databases, and handle general office duties such as filing, faxing, and photocopying. Ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Patient Flow Management: Help manage patient flow to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner, assist with managing delays, and ensure that waiting times are minimized.
- Coordination with Dental Team: Communicate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth coordination of appointments, treatment plans, and patient needs. Assist with patient referrals to specialists if required.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns, ensuring a positive experience, and building long-term relationships with patients.
- At least one year related experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office setting
