Specific Duties:
The Business Analyst (BA) role for the state hospitals post-EHR implementation is a critical position, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring that the technology aligns with the unique needs of each hospital. The primary responsibilities of this BA will include updating forms and databases, particularly in collaboration with Parson's developer. They will act as a product owner, playing a key role in system releases and prioritizing work to align with the specific requirements of each of the four hospitals.
The BA will be tasked with keeping all hospitals informed and up-to-date. This includes occasional visits to each hospital to understand their specific workflows and needs, especially prior to the project's go-live date. The BA will work closely with system administrators, particularly with the HS-EBIT and Wellsky's application
development teams, to ensure that the EHR system is optimized for each hospital’s use. This close collaboration will help in allowing them to learn hospital workflows and adapt to different requirements efficiently.
A significant aspect of this role will be to serve as a liaison between the IT department and the clinical staff. Therefore, a preference will be given to candidates with a clinical background, as this will help in understanding the medical needs and reducing the ramp-up time. The BA will assist in prioritizing tasks and discussions, leveraging their clinical background to align IT solutions with hospital operations.
In terms of performance and team dynamics, the BA is expected to communicate with Hospital and HS-EBIT staff. There is a noted gap between current hospital needs and what the existing EHR system offers, which the BA will need to address. The role also involves working with existing staff to adapt to new technologies and processes, aligning with the HS-EBIT process to resolve operational inefficiencies.
