The Business Analyst position(s) will augment current program resources and provide consulting services in support of the completion of strategic, critical, or internally directed projects.
The Business Analyst acquired will have the responsibility of serving as a liaison between Revenue Accounting, Business Technology Office, and IT staff for the Motor Fuel Distribution Rewrite & Supplemental Return Processing project and provide Business Process knowledge to the Revenue Accounting process to facilitate the daily Revenue Accounting tasks, functions and knowledge transfer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The applicant(s) must have sufficient knowledge, understanding and experience with the Revenue Accounting process and Motor Fuel Distribution within DOR. Other knowledge, skills and abilities desired include:
• Knowledge of Department of Revenue's SUNTAX system.
• Knowledge of State of Florida accounting policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including one or more of the following: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
• Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
• Skill in auditing, reviewing, reconciling or analyzing data for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining a variety of accurate and complete accounting reports.
• Skill in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-passed environment and manage completing deadlines.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to use sound judgment to identify problems, generates and evaluates alternative solutions, and makes recommendations.
• Ability to work well independently yet works cohesively within the section to maintain internal control measures.
3.3 Education/Certifications.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Preference will also be given to applicants with that have experience working with a State MeF XML Project or have worked with National Standards whether Government or Industrial.
