Business Analyst (Contractor)
Duration: 2 years with the potential to extend
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
Location: Shelton, CT
The Business Analyst must be able to understand the Pricing, Billing and Cost management for domestic and international shipping, fulfillment and return business.Candidate should have good understanding of postal, non-postal business and challenges of the shipping and mailing industry. The Business Analyst will create detailed user stories, requirements, use cases with supporting documentation of current systems and user needs, including workflow, business rules, and steps required to configure, integrate, or develop new solutions.
As a Business Analyst , you are the partner and consultant for the internal and external stakeholders to provide the complete understanding of the new requirements in order to create a successful solution and satisfied client. Candidates for this highly professional position must bring proven experience of business analysis, process management, and change management skills to the position in order to provide a consultative view in recommending how the Client System will provide a solution for the clients. As a subject matter expert, you are expected to stay abreast of the latest industry technology coupled with our product offerings to ensure that our customers receive straightforward integrated solutions of the new requirements with the Client finance services platforms. Business Analysts are required to be proficient in analysis of our solutions offerings for customer business need, feasibility and fit.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years proven experience in business or requirements analysis-related profession is required.
Strong interpersonal skills allowing collaboration with external and internal stakeholders (development teams, IT teams, end users, executives and business leaders) on a daily basis.
Strong oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to facilitate create and define requirements.
Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio, Excel, Word & PowerPoint to drive communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those who must implement and understand the requirements.
Analyze and document current and future optimized business process models at a task level that accurately represent end-user workflows.
Define success and quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements for the solution.
Lead the requirements analysis and verification process, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to Client and external stakeholders standards
Lead cross-functional teams of Sales, IT, Accounting, Finance, and pricing team on scope, solutions requirements, success, constraints, deployment requirements and defined risks.
Recommend, propose, and present solutions compatible with the Client Systems based on the customer need & business analysis.
Tailors the requirements of the Client systems solutions to satisfy requirements outlined in the internal or external Statement of Work (SOW).
The BA must maintain leading-edge knowledge in the discipline along with complete knowledge of Client systems solutions and possess the skills to apply the knowledge to specific customer applications
Understand the deployment strategy of the software systems solutions in support of the successful completion of implementations and customer satisfaction
Provides technical support to internal and external stakeholders during the requirements elicitation phase, test\integration phase and production deployment phase
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, computer science or business is strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and relationship management expertise with the ability to interact among many disciplines of people.
Experience with Accounting, Billing and financial services related products/platform will be a plus.
Some understanding of programming languages, scripting, and web server and database standards: XML, Java, .NET, JavaScript, REST, SOAP, SQL, MySQL is a plus
