About the Job
JOB Description : Business Analyst / QA Tester with a financial background Midtown NY
Duration : Contract to hire (9-12) (months before conversion).
Rate : Market
Team size : 12-15 ( Ba/QA )
1. Very strong financial background as a BA
2. Outstanding requirements gathering ability and skills. Must be able to very clearly write requirements documents and test cases
3. Must be able to test their own stuff on the back end. Automated testing a plus.
Client at the beginning to move to a model where their BA's work remotely, even if they're a FTE. So that is a definite possibility but the candidate should expect to be on site for the early part of the project and even then...it needs to be the right candidate before they'll accept remote 100%.
They are looking for a BA that also has some business modeling and enterprise architecture history. They will be looking/evaluating a lot of vendor packages and working with different banks to determine what type of applications/systems they're using and whether it's a good fit for Missouri Employers. Someone that knows banking tools, knows banking models and has been exposed to bringing in vendor packages before, someone that has the ability to gauge just how much customization will be required if they opt for a vendor package is helpful. Some implementation experience is nice. Must be able to compare and contrast vendor packages to determine if it's a good fit for MEM and be able to articulate why and how much customization vs. out of the box will be required.
Test case and requirements gathering/writing is key. They will take this person through a scenario and ask them how they would write it up to determine the functional and nonfunctional requirements. They'll be looking for the language and words they'll use. They'll pull in a PM from the financial group to ask financial related questions.
