Business Analyst, Logistics is accountable to the Commercial business unit for the delivery of IT projects and continued digital transformation; and is accountable to the IT function for the advocacy of the IT policies, strategies, and practices. This unique role will primarily focus on Global Marine and Surface Transportation Logistics and provides the opportunity to work across the Commercial business value chain including Global Trading, US Scheduling, Global Market Analysis, Midstream Commercial (NGL), Global Marine, Surface Transportation Logistics, Risk and Compliance, Commercial F&PA, and Accounting Operations.
The criticality of the Commercial organization in maximizing general interest profitability by sourcing, lower-cost feedstocks to our refineries, while leveraging our asset optionality and global market presence to generate value coupled with digital transformation creates a unique opportunity and challenge within the Phillips 66 environment. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for building relationships and networking across various businesses and IT organizations. Responsibilities May Include:
- Translating business strategies into IT requirements and sourcing IT services to meet requirements, and measuring their business value
- Increasing business acumen; understanding end-to-end business processes
- Understanding and identifying alternatives, presenting options, and making recommendations to improve and optimize the businesses systems footprint
- Capturing business requirements and reviewing functional designs, with technical teams, for systems changes
- Performing feasibility analysis of project initiatives to prioritize, scope, and secure funding for Commercial IT capital projects
- Executing the Logistics Transparency Program
- Executing small capital projects within the Commercial systems project portfolio
- Providing input and influence on Commercial process and systems roadmap and LRP
- Managing vendor relationships, software upgrades, and software renewals
- Facilitating training opportunities
- Liaising with IT support and software vendors to assist business users experiencing desktop support or software issues
- Participating in business unit, IT, vendor, and/or industry networks
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration, facilitation, and influencing skills
- 5 or more years of IT experience in functional support, business analyst, or project roles
- Functional knowledge in Truck, Rail, and Marine modes of transportation
- Functional knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, preferably MM/SD, and an oil & gas industry focus.
- Strong understanding of the deals-to-dollars oil & gas business processes.
- Strong understanding of commercial spot, term, and evergreen contracts for physical oil & gas commodities.
- Functional understanding of third-party commercial system integrations into SAP S/4 HANA.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Business, Finance or Related Field
- Process mapping skills
- Working experience with business requirements gathering methodologies
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, deliver on commitments, and use sound judgment

- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with IT and business partners
